Stamford Health, a well-established, award-winning Healthcare System with multiple locations in CT has an opportunity for a full-time CT Technologist.
Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
The CT staff technologist provides a variety of CT procedures for the purpose of creating cross sectional images. He/ She operates CT equipment, PACS (digital imaging), prepares patient room, equipment, supplies and medications, provides patient services using imaging modalities and performs procedures insuring compliance with organizational protocols and standards.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is able to apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology in obtaining adequate diagnostic exams.
2. Demonstrates competency in the age specific standards as defined for the department/unit.
3 Is able to recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, has developed skills to practice in a safe clinical environment, knowledgeable CT safety and protection, has developed skills in contrast administration.
4. Prepares all imaging exams for reading to include correct demographic identification and assures that diagnosis matches procedure for correct billing. Evaluates digital imaging for quality and accuracy before releasing the patient.
5. Checks patients identification, questions the patient to obtain a clinical history or pre-existing condition.
Always questions female patients regarding pregnancy. He/She documents all relevant information in synapse notes.
6. Is able to keep the department running proficiently, regularly checks equipment, accessories and supplies.
Keeps area stocked at all times, cleans and disinfects equipment after each use; daily cleans exam room.
7 .Knows the role of a CT Technologist as a member of the health care team and is able to function as a competent and compassionate care giver.
8. Provides the highest level of customer service to all customers that align with the values and standards of the organizations.
9. Applies appropriate measures in order to minimize radiation exposure to self, patients, employees and others. Utilizes and abides by image gently and image wisely standards. Maintains appropriate licensure, registration and continuing education requirements.
10. Knowledge and function of Tele-radiography Systems
11.Responsible for all electronic documentation

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate from a formal Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association; is certified by American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), licensed in State of Connecticut as Radiological Technologist. Two years of experience as a Radiological Technologist preferred. CPR certified and CT scan Advanced Certification eligible.
