Primary Purpose: The Transportation Supervisor & DOT Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the DOT component of driver compliance, administration, and audits. This role includes conducting safety training for personnel to ensure compliance and safety awareness at Mountaire. The goal is to reduce vehicle accidents and improve overall CSA scores. The specialist will also provide assistance to the Transportation Manager as needed 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • DOT Compliance: Manage driver compliance, administration, and audits (25%).
  • Driver Ride-Along and Roadside Observations: Conduct ride-alongs and roadside observations to ensure compliance (25%).
  • Driver Safety Training: Provide safety training to drivers to enhance compliance and safety awareness (25%).
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspections: Perform inspections of commercial vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards (20%).
  • Accident Investigation: Investigate vehicle accidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures (5%) 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience supporting a transportation department with a focus on DOT compliance.
  • FMCSA DOT HOS On-Board Computer Training and Driver Training certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently standing, walking, and bending over.
  • Occasionally sitting, kneeling, and crawling.

Work Environment: This position involves working in office, shop, and outdoor settings
