About the Department

The Respite Therapist of the (CCP) Crisis Care Program provides evaluation, psychosocial education, mentoring, and treatment services to clients, assists clients in developing and accomplishing treatment goals in individual and group settings. Provides consultation and education to community groups and emergency services.

Since 1983, theCrisis Care Program has provided a 24/7 crisis line and an 8-bed, voluntary, inpatient, 24/7 respite stabilization program for clients in crisis. Since 2018, the Crisis Care Program has also provided services to Lake County residents who call 988 and is currently one of six locations in the state to do so. This is a large program that touches almost every other behavioral health program in the agency. It is a great opportunity to lead a team, respond to client needs and connect to the rest of the community.

Scheduled Hours: 40 hours a week
  • Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)

Position Duties

  • Conducts crisis intervention/evaluation/referral for persons who present themselves at the program.
  • Performs initial evaluations and assessments of potential clients regarding their appropriateness for participation in the program.
  • Provides direct services to clients including individual and group treatment.
  •  Focuses on client empowerment in providing treatment, seeking to assist clients to build strengths to meet their treatment needs.
  •  Facilitates with clients and collaborates with the treatment team to develop, review and update treatment goals and referrals both internally and externally.
  •  Provides education and direction to clients, family members and/or significant others.
  •  Provides atmosphere of customer service in assuring that clients are treated in a friendly and respectful manner.
  •  Organizes and participates in treatment-related clinical conferences and staffing's on assigned clients.
  •  Takes responsibility for training in and documenting clinical chart requirements to meet program and state standards.
  •  Provides emergency evaluations of clients regarding their need for involuntary hospitalization, if meets criteria as a qualified examiner.
  •  Serves as a LPHA and/or QMHP, which includes reviewing and signing clinical assessments, individual treatment plants, and other appropriate clinical documentation.
  •  Coordinates weekly clinical staffing's and provides clinical consultation as directed by the Program Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field, and
  • Successful completion of 1,000 practicum hours, or
  • One (1) year of documented clinical experience under the supervision of a QMHP
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
