We currently have a career opportunity for a part-time Bilingual Teller to join our team at our Janesville location.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Tellers are responsible for building trust and strengthening customer relationships through prompt, efficient, accurate and friendly service to all customers of the bank while adhering to bank policies and procedures. The teller role progresses from level one to level three, to acknowledge and reward the skills learned as they grow in their career.

This position requires translating in Spanish for any services offered at the Bank and community involvement opportunities are expected as part of our Bilingual Initiative.


Bilingual Teller I

The role of a Bilingual Teller I is instrumental in building mutually beneficial relationships between the customer and Premier Bank. As the front line of the company, this position requires keeping the customer’s experience as the top priority, while financially protecting both the customer and the company.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Exhibit superior customer service, including smiling and greeting all customers upon entering the lobby and drive thru
  • Demonstrate a friendly, professional appearance and demeanor
  • Accurately process basic banking transactions including verification of checks and cash for deposit, accepting loan payments, and withdrawal transactions
  • Maintain and balance a cash drawer accurately
  • Promptly and professionally handles routine customer questions both in person and on the phone
  • Properly identifies customers prior to processing transactions or releasing any banking information
  • Understand and effectively communicates Premier Bank’s products and services
  • Maintain an awareness of fraud trends and asks appropriate questions to help protect customers and the bank from scams or loss
  • Adhere to policies, procedures and regulatory banking requirements
  • Maintains the highest level of integrity, professionalism and respect at all times 
  • Participate in community events

Requirements

  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of people, both verbally and in written format, with excellent active listening skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills and the ability to pay attention to the details, while meeting established deadlines.
  • The ability to utilize established guidelines and use common sense in problem-solving and decision-making methods.
  • A working knowledge of computers, MS Office applications, banking software and the ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. Must be fluent in both languages with the ability to read, write and speak in both.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of previous customer service experience preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Experience in the banking industry preferred but not required. Ability to complete and maintain all required training in accordance with organizational, County, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Occasional driving may be required to float between branches where coverage is needed and for training purposes. 


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position typically works in an office environment and is not subject to excessive physical demands. Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
