We are a rapidly growing restaurant group operating multiple nationally recognized brands across diverse markets. With an aggressive real estate expansion strategy, we're seeking a Real Estate Attorney to help manage the legal aspects of site acquisition, leasing, and development to ensure every deal is executed efficiently, securely, and in alignment with our business goals.

 

The Real Estate Attorney will oversee and manage all legal matters related to commercial real estate transactions, including lease negotiations, acquisitions, due diligence, title/survey review, and zoning compliance. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to the development, construction, and executive teams as we scale our operations and portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, and review commercial leases, amendments, LOIs, purchase agreements, and related real estate documents.
  • Provide legal counsel and risk analysis on property acquisitions, lease renewals, relocations, and terminations.
  • Conduct and/or manage due diligence for new sites, including title, survey, environmental, and zoning reviews.
  • Partner with brokers, developers, landlords, and internal departments to align legal terms with business objectives.
  • Oversee outside counsel relationships related to real estate transactions and litigation as needed.
  • Track key lease obligations, renewal dates, and ensure compliance with all real estate contracts.
  • Advise on landlord/tenant issues, insurance, permitting, and property disputes.

Bonus Points If You Have:

✨ In-house experience with a franchise or multi-unit operation

✨ Knowledge of permitting/zoning across state lines

✨ A proactive, partnership-oriented mindset

 

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in good standing (state-specific depending on location/needs).
  • 5+ years of commercial real estate law experience, preferably in the retail, QSR, or hospitality sector.
  • Deep knowledge of lease law, real estate transactions, and municipal zoning/permitting processes.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
