Position Overview:
EGA Spectro Alloys is seeking a precise and detail-oriented Scale Operator to manage the weigh station operations at our Rosemount, MN facility. This role ensures the accurate weighing, recording, and processing of all incoming and outgoing materials, contributing directly to our operational efficiency and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to safety and accuracy.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected starting wage for this position is $20.00 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Operate computerized scales to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing trucks and materials (aluminum scrap and finished alloys).
- Accurately record and log all weigh ticket information, including material type, weight, vehicle details, and customer information, into the company's database and relevant systems.
- Direct truck drivers and visitors to appropriate areas for unloading or loading, ensuring efficient traffic flow.
- Communicate effectively with internal personnel and external customers.
- Verify material contents of loads, ensuring compliance with company specifications, regulatory requirements and process necessary documentation,
- Assist with basic customer service inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at the weigh station and surrounding area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards.
- Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned by supervision.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environment
- Proficient in using computers for data entry with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capable of working in varying weather conditions (indoor/outdoor work).
- Committed to following all safety procedures.
Must have the ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions, operations, safety procedures, and hazardous labels.
