Job Summary Overview

Position is responsible for multiple tasks and duties regarding vehicle loan titles and equity deed releases.

Essential Job Functions

  • Handles ACD and member calls regarding titling, lien placement, and lien releases.
  • Completes Commercial motor vehicle record review and collaborates with Commercial team to ensure proper documents are collected for successful lien placement on commercial loans. 
  • Manage the equity loan deed release process. Ensures lien is released in compliance with (ARS) 33-707 statute which requires lender to record deed of release within thirty days of loan payoff. 
  • Work directly with AZ MVD and Authorized Third Parties to assess ongoing member and lien perfection impacts and risks. Report trends that may cause risk during loan processing to Consumer Lending Servicing leaders. 
  • Must meet AZ MVD and AZFCU compliance and regulatory requirements around vehicle lien placement and titling. 
  • Conduct research and follow up with lien holders to ensure liens timely lien releases, allowing for the completion our lien placement to meet AZMVD and AZ law requirements.
  • Research auto loan payoff issues and errors to determine next steps. This requires following up with original lien holder and members and working directly with leadership for resolution. 
  • Responsible for working title follow up report daily to monitor lien placement and time frames are met. 
  • Maintain a titling workbook to track liens in process, ensuring information is documented for use by Compliance and management. 
  • Collaborate with Automotive Lending Manager and dealers to ensure dealers meet lien placement requirements and timeframes. 
  • Manage out of state registration and title transfer process. Works directly with member and out of state MVD and FDI/Dealertrack to ensure liens remain in place during the title transfer and registration process.
  • Work with Risk when research is required for repossession, including completing motor vehicle reviews, title requests and title tracking. 
  • Completes loan default rate increases when the needed items to complete lien placement are not provided by the member. Is responsible for tracking and providing updates to leadership. 
  • Continue to perform Consumer Loan Titling Specialist duties and tasks. 
  • Understands Consumer Lending policies, processes, and practices.
  • Maintains professional standards and adheres to Arizona Financial values. 
  • Ensures individual and credit union adherence to policies and standard business practices.

Position Required Qualifications

One (1) year of lending (origination, processing, titles and/or servicing) experience.

Minimum Education and Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Two (2) years of experience in a financial institution or related field in customer service or one (1) year with Arizona Financial Experience. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of computers and software applications. Ability to type 45 words per minute. Ability to read, write, speak, and use proper grammar in English. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, memos, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate verbally on the telephone, speaking to members regarding sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to work efficiently and responsibly in an environment with multiple work demands and short timeframes. Ability to apply commonsense understanding when dealing with problems involving variables in standardized situations. Ability to calculate rates, ratios, income, and percentages. 

Licenses, Training, and Certifications Required

None.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience with Consumer Loans.

Hybrid Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. 
  • Regularly required to stand or sit; use hands to finger keys accurately when using calculator machines or computer keyboards. 
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and peripheral vision. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is quiet.
  • Must be able to travel independently to department and branch locations.
