Pennoni is currently seeking a Graduate Geologist to work in our Geotechnical Engineering team while based at our office in Newark, DE office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitoring soils and earthwork construction.
- Assist with geotechnical field investigations.
- Working in the field at building construction sites as a Quality Assurance representative; this involves observing, documenting and reporting on the construction work and performing construction materials testing.
- Inspecting construction and materials compliance with the drawings and specifications.
- Materials include reinforced concrete, masonry, soils, earth work, and foundations.
- Field testing of plastic concrete, grout, mortar, block, and soils.
- Communicate and coordinate with the engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Work construction hours (which may include overtime).
- Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements:
- B.S. in Environmental Geology, Earth Science, Geosciences, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on construction projects is a plus
- Ability to read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, and communicate technical details.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
