Description of main tasks:
The Incumbent is responsible for the following tasks:
Production Process
- To manage the shift and all operators/contract labours to ensure the smooth running of the production process.
Execution of Production Activities
- To execute the production in shifts in order minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital
- Problem solving and troubling shooting to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand
Material yield & Quality
- To ensure the material yield & product quality is as per budget and set standards. To ensure that all products are produced within standard specifications.
People Management
- To plan Own & contract Manpower arrangement for the shift
- To resolve conflicts/problems with other teams with positiveoutcome
- To communicate effectively and assertively in order to avoid conflicts at work place.
- To ensure training, maintaining skill matrix of Op. Sp. & their assessment is as per the plan
Coordination with other Departments
- Coordinate with the Process team to stabilize production runs, manage trial runs, and control raw material usage.
- Coordinate effectively with the supply chain team to ensure timely and uninterrupted material availability, enabling smooth and continuous production flow.
- Coordinate with other departments and external agencies such as direct expense suppliers, canteen, security, and administration during the shift
- To effectively co-ordinate with maintenance for Preventive and breakdown maintenance
Manufacturing Consumables
- Maintain and ensure availability of manufacturing consumables.
Housekeeping & 5S
- To ensure up-to-date 5S in Production area in the shift to maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
Reporting
- To prepare Daily Production Report and ensure data entry in SAP system.
Safety
- To ensure adherence to the Safety guidelines for plant and PPE on shop floor.
- To ensure that all operators comply with the company’s Health and Safety procedures.
Keep supervisor and upper-level management apprised of daily operations.
- To follow up proactively to avoid any slip up on the execution of daily plans and takes corrective actions.
- To proactively keep others informed about the corrective actions. Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, general issues
WAM Impelmentation
- To Lead, plan & implement Worldclass Armacell Mindset (WAM) manufacturing for Pune Plant and promote operating in a continual improvement environment
Job Specifications
Professional Education
- Diploma/BE in any Engineering Mechanical/Production/Chemical field.
Professional Experience (how long)?
- 6 - 7 Yrs
In which areas?
- Experience in the role of Shift Leader in a MNC Manufacturing unit.
