Job Description:

Role Purpose:

The Intraday Commercial lead will assist the intraday trading manager in leading and supervising commercial and trading activities across Intraday (ID) and Day-Ahead (BODA) activity, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and operational excellence. The role includes strategic oversight, operational management, compliance, and performance monitoring.

Main Responsibilities:

General:                                                                        

  • Ensure best commercial practices and the highest standards of professionalism, ethical behaviour, and integrity.

  • Meet the commercial optimization needs and strategic objectives related to Intraday (ID) and Day-Ahead (BODA) activities.

  • Guarantee compliance with internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and business controls.

  • Proactively suggest and manage evolution and improvements of commercial mandates, strategies, and operational practices to Intraday management.

  • Proactively manage the implementation of Intraday and BODA trading activity functional support developed by intraday team member and maintain a high level of automation.

  • Provide operational validation and team sign-off when required.

  • Collaborate closely with the Algo/technical lead to deliver common objectives

  • Guarantee comprehensive daily and weekly reporting of intraday activities to management.

Operational Management (Intraday):

  • Foster excellent relationships with internal and external counterparties.

  • Organize rosters and staffing requirements to guarantee business continuity and development .

  • Ensure all commercial strategies are justified (documented) and adhere to compliance standards and risk management policies and mandate.

  • Oversee the smooth operation of all Intraday commercial activities.

  • Ensure timely access and permissions to necessary trading platforms and systems.

  • Monitor Intraday positions and ensure they remain aligned with the company’s risk management framework (trading mandate internal and Corporate level) and ensure a support to the shifts in case

  • Monitor the team’s adherence to safety and security during shifts.

  • Optimize interaction and ensure effective use of Market Analysts during operational shifts.

  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of P&L reporting for ID activities.

  • Guarantee comprehensive daily and weekly reporting of Intraday trading activities to management.

Operational Management Day-Ahead (BODA Activity):

  • Manage and organize the Day-Ahead activities delivered by the Intraday desk, including rosters, training, and operational readiness.

  • Develop and define strategies for cross-border capacity bidding.

  • Create and implement KPIs to monitor DA commercial activities effectively.

  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of P&L reporting for DA activities.

  • Guarantee comprehensive daily and weekly reporting of Day-Ahead activities to management.

Controls and Reporting:

  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal teams (middle office, back office, contract and settlement) ensuring efficient management of contract, settlement, and transactional issues.

  • Organize and lead regular meetings (monthly) with Middle Office to resolve commercial discrepancies and manage risks proactively.

  • Ensure continuous risk reporting and management to minimize exposure during trading operations.

  • Oversee accurate reporting of Profit & Loss (P&L), validating that reported results align with expectations, monitoring daily value creation.

  • Implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor the performance of commercial desks (Intraday and Day-Ahead) continuously.

  • Ensure accurate, clear, and timely communication of key commercial events to management, overseeing daily and weekly team reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related disciplines.

  • At least 5–7 years of experience in commercial operations, trading, or related intraday/energy markets.

  • Demonstrated managerial capability. A track record in team leadership and performance management is a plus.

  • Deep understanding of energy markets, trading operations, compliance, risk management, and regulatory standards.

  • Proficiency in English required; fluency in French and/or additional languages would be advantageous.
