The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Lead Field Engineer, the Field Operations Engineer/Technologist is primarily responsible for managing all production related opportunities while interfacing with Field Operations & Production Engineering teams. When required, you may also work with Facilities to contribute to the technical & functional operation of facilities while delivering safe, reliable & optimized operation while practicing & actively promoting facts & data decision making culture. This role requires minimum 20% of the time to be on site with the balance of time in the office.

  • Job location: Grande Prairie Office or Fairview Office with travel to various field locations in NW AB
    • Eligible for relocation to Grande Prairie, Fairview or surrounding area
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maximize production through optimization of wells and facilities, facilitate KPI’s for equipment performance such as pumps, plungers, well treatments and compressor performance
  • Develop safe, effective and efficient well servicing programs to complete workover operations on identified opportunities and repairs
  • Provide technical day-to-day support to field operations on production optimization, troubleshooting and regulatory requirements
  • Manage smaller facility capital projects, optimization initiatives ensuring designs meet expected reliability performance such as runtime
  • Gather data and drawings and compile MOC packages supporting Facility Engineer and follow the process through to execution.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities of Front Line Manager, Supervisor as outlined in the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Determine operating and capital cost requirements to ensure base volume maintenance, WO budget and forecasting
  • Develop project estimates to ensure they are all inclusive, accurate and payout with-in corporate guidelines
  • Ensure flaring and all other directives, regulations and IRP’s are adhered to
  • Ensure the appropriate key personnel are involved and/or consulted as required, including Superintendents, Production Managers, Foreman, Maintenance Foreman, Production Engineering, Facility Engineering, Technologists, etc.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in Engineering or Operational role
  • Require Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma
  • Ability and desire to progress to LSS Green belt within 2 years
  • Possesses knowledge in economics, financial reporting, controls & ethical practices
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication, organization & analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt to frequently changing external and internal requirements by adjusting current and developing new business practices
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to safety and environmental principles and practices
