Human Resources | BenefitsThe Benefit Analyst 2 administers retirement processes and serves as a subject matter expert for retirement-related inquiries and processes. This role provides advanced customer service to HR professionals, faculty, staff, plan participants, and external retirement providers, addressing complex issues such as missed contributions, refunds, and retirement payments. The Analyst manages, audits, and balances contribution files; processes payments; and resolves discrepancies, with a particular focus on Social Security number (SSN) issues. Additionally, this position ensures the timely execution of 415(m) distributions and performs audits within the payroll process, including off-cycle reviews. The Analyst also handles routine monthly and yearly tasks, supporting the successful administration of retirement benefits and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
30%- Review and resolve demographic file discrepancies, with a focus on Social Security number (SSN) issues.
25%- Serve as the escalated contact for retirement-related inquiries, providing advanced customer service to HR professionals, faculty, staff, plan participants and external retirement providers. Address complex issues related to retirement reporting, payments, missed contributions and refunds. Handle routine monthly and yearly duties, as well as any additional tasks assigned.
20%- Manage, audit, balance, and process contribution files, including making payments and resolving related issues.
15%- Audit various data points within the payroll process and review off-cycle payrolls.
10%- Confirm and if necessary, request 415(m) distributions as they become due, ensuring timely execution.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
2 years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications:
2-4 years of relevant experience.
Retirement-related experience within a higher education institution.
