This is a contracted position for 12+ months. This position offers 60% of fee sharing. Equivalent to $80-$90.00 per hour.
Job Title: Project Manager – CalAIM Initiative (Correctional Health)
Location: Hybrid – Must be located in California (Bay Area strongly preferred)
Hourly Rate: $80–$90 per hour
Contract Duration: 12 months
Division: Correctional Health Services (CHS)
Work Authorization: Must pass background check and obtain jail facility clearance
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a cross-functional team in support of a major CalAIM initiative impacting San Mateo County’s clinical systems, including Epic. This role is essential to ensuring operational readiness and system alignment in a correctional health setting, with a focus on Medi-Cal billing compliance during incarceration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan aligned with CalAIM requirements
Drive on-time and on-budget execution of project milestones and deliverables
Facilitate regular cross-functional team meetings and stakeholder updates
Create and maintain core project artifacts, including the Project Charter, RAID Log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and status reports
Collaborate with CHS, Health IT, and operational partners to align workflows and system changes
Ensure Epic modules (ClinDOC, Orders, HB, PB, Grand Central, Claims, Population Health) are appropriately configured and implemented
Navigate shifting priorities, manage project risks, and resolve issues in a dynamic environment
Ensure quality standards are met and project outcomes align with strategic objectives
Required Qualifications
Must be based in California (Bay Area strongly preferred)
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain jail clearance
5–7 years of project management experience, ideally in healthcare, public sector, or correctional health settings
Experience managing large-scale, regulatory-driven projects
Familiarity with the CalAIM initiative and its impact on Medi-Cal billing
Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
Proficiency in project management tools, reporting, and stakeholder management
Working knowledge of Epic (certification not required)
Experience with business analysis, requirements gathering, and workflow documentation
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
Work Arrangement
Hybrid Position: Must be able to work remotely and report onsite as needed
On-site visits may be required based on project phases, meetings, or facility access needs
