SALARY:  The salary range for this position is $99,370.93 to $156,207.04.  For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic manager with strong organizational awareness, customer service, decision making, leadership, and technical skills to join the Office of Probation Services as Assistant Regional Manager for the Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) in the Southern Regional Office (Cherry Hill, NJ). Under the general direction of the Regional Manager (Court Executive 2B), this position will supervise the day-to-day operations in a regional office that provides intensive probation supervision, represent ISP in best practices projects involving the reduction of recidivism, and analyze critical reports to identify needs, trends, and responses. The Intensive Supervision Program operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and requires extensive driving.


The Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) is a program designed to treat both adult inmates and juvenile offenders in the community under strict supervision. The individual having gone through a rigorous screening process, is given an opportunity to abide by a set of rules and thereby earn their continued release to the community. The reorientation to the community depends upon that individual’s commitment to change.


REMOTE WORKThe Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Position Duties

  • Responsible for effectively communicating ISP/JISP practices, policies, and procedures with judges, court staff, service providers, and community volunteers
  • Selecting, supervising, planning, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, training and evaluating the work of professional and support staff
  • Conducting case reviews
  • Monitoring caseloads
  • Reviewing statistical reports to ensure adherence to established standards
  • Work with program participants by hearing, mediating, and resolving complaints about ISP/JISP
  • Provide community protection by monitoring and enforcing compliance with court orders and conditions
  • Performs other duties as required 


Although this position is located in the ISP Southern Regional office (Cherry Hill, NJ), travel to the Central Office (Trenton, NJ), and other Judiciary locations may be required.


Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of professional administrative and/or program management experience; three of which shall have included responsibility for program development and/or implementation and the achievement of program goals.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional professional experience may be substituted for the required bachelor's degree. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree may be substituted for two years of experience as indicated above.

Other Qualifications

Driver's License:  Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work:  US citizenship is not required.  Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law:  In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
