More about our team

Our Infection Prevention team ensures patient safety through vigilant oversight of infection control practices across our enterprise. Assignments vary and may be remote or on-site depending on facility needs, offering flexibility and exposure to a broad spectrum of environments. Team members play a critical role in mentoring and guiding Infection Preventionists while helping shape best practices for infection prevention systemwide.


How you’ll contribute

A Interim Director, Infection Prevention (IP) who excels in this role:

  • Oversees infection prevention activities for assigned hospitals/markets, including infection surveillance and regulatory reporting.

  • Supports HAI reduction and prevention strategies across facilities.

  • Onboards and mentors novice Infection Preventionists under the guidance of the AVP of Infection Prevention.

  • Implements and enhances facility-wide infection surveillance and control policies based on national guidelines.

  • Educates hospital staff through competency-based training on infection control practices.

  • Collaborates across departments (sterile processing, antimicrobial stewardship, etc.) to drive infection prevention.

  • Conducts compliance audits and advises clinical staff on safe patient care practices.

  • Analyzes infection data and assists in performance improvement initiatives.

  • Ensures accurate and timely federal/state reporting and NHSN submission.

  • Serves on multidisciplinary teams and helps align hospital policies with current standards.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will be a Certified Infection Prevention professional with demonstrated leadership experience in acute care settings. Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital infection prevention.

  • Strong background in NHSN reporting and familiarity with quality/safety initiatives.

  • CIC (Certified in Infection Control) required. CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) preferred.

  • NHSN SAMS access required.

  • Preferred EMR experience: Meditech, MedHost, Cerner, EPIC.

  • Familiarity with Wolters Kluwer Sentri7 platform and The Joint Commission AMP tracer tools.

  • Strong communication, mentoring, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, mentor new IPs using APIC’s “Roadmap,” and create 30/60/90-day growth plans.
