GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This 20 hour per week 10 month remote position administers and provides coordination and oversight for an online MSW field component.  Some evening work is required.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be available to assist the Field Director, online faculty, online students, and community partners in an engaging and proactive manner. 
  • In consultation with the Field Director, coordinate partnerships between the online social work component and community agencies for the purpose of securing quality placements for all students in the online social work component.
  • Facilitate affiliation agreement completion and monitoring for online placements in consultation with the Field Director and Program Assistant.
  • The ability to participate in and utilize the programs' online learning platform for course work, engagement, and communication purposes.
  • Conduct student field advising for all online MSW students and finalize each student placement.
  • Manage pre-placement and placement data tracking for all online MSW students with the assistance of the Program Assistant.
  • Facilitate and manage agency and supervisor training for the online social work field component in coordination with the FIeld Director and Program Assistant.
  • Teach field seminar courses as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Triage and act as the primary point of contact for resolving student and agency concerns in consultation with field faculty and Field Director.
  • Manage database for all online MSW students and agencies.
  • Attend and participate in various meetings as they occur including planning meetings, field committee meetings, and monthly clinical coordinator meetings.
  • Interact with various University Departments in the process of developing and conducting the field placement process.
  • Provide input into the development and maintenance of the online portion of the Field Manual.

     

 

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

JOB SCOPE

The duties of this position are primarily performed independently in alignment with the MSW Program policies and procedures.  Direction and consultation are available through the Field Director,  the online Associate Program Director, and the MSW Program Director.

Qualifications


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This position requires an Masters in Social Work (MSW) from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program and two years post MSW practice experience.  A Licensed Clinical Social Worker is preferred.

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times utilizing FERPA guidelines
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in problem solving and decision making
  • Demonstrate professionalism in potentially stressful situations and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate professional appearance and demeanor at all times including when on camera with students, faculty, staff and agency partners
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment
  • Respond to communication in a timely manner, generally within the same working day
  • Knowledge and understanding of CSWE field accreditation guidelines
  • Ask questions and seek assistance
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets
  • Ability to work with online field management platforms including Intern Placement Tracking, My Record Tracker  and Certiphi.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

All work will be performed remotely requiring reliable access to wireless internet.  Evening work will be required 1-2 evenings per week.
