MHP hiring a full time Mobile Therapist to provide culturally responsive, evidenced-based individual, group and family-based interventions to participants at MHP's program sites as well as in the community. Mobile Therapists are also responsible for assuring that the MHP values and philosophy of consumer choice; harm reduction and respectful concern are expressed in all aspects of team practice.


The position is full time, with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and a starting salary of $76,000 annually. As an MHP employee, you will have access to the following benefits:

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develops individualized plans for participants based on assessment, and coordinates any additional services needed, revising as necessary. 
  • Works directly with program participants to provide therapy and help them develop healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Conducts individual, group or family sessions as appropriate with participants, focusing on "meeting people where they're at" within the context of harm reduction through integrating evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
  • Cultivates and maintains working relationships with outside agencies, i.e. behavioral health organizations, government agencies, healthcare providers, courts and prisons, schools, churches and other community organizations to create and/or strengthen MHP services. 
  • Conducts street outreach with the goal of developing meaningful and trusting relationships with participants experiencing homelessness or economic insecurity with behavioral health needs.
  • Engages participants in various settings to assess the social, medical, and emotional health of an individual to determine needs and presenting concerns; develop a planful approach to addressing those needs.
  • Provides crisis intervention and de-escalation to participants as necessary.
  • Tracks and documents participant progress in data reports while working to meet all required internal and external contract standards and policies.
  • Obtains necessary information during the intake process, and collaboratively documents participant progress in MHP's electronic health records system at time of service, Credible; ensures that all data is correct by verifying the information with the participant.
  • Complies with all other established quality and regulatory standards, including supervision and training requirements.
  • Supports and assists participants in the community when necessary and ensures participants safety when participating in events, visits, and other interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field required.
  • Credentialed as a Licensed Social Worker.
  • 3 years of experience in trauma-informed approaches to working with clients (including internships and volunteer work).
  • 3 years of training and/or experience with harm reduction approaches to working with clients with SUD (including internships and volunteer work).
  • Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, timesheet management, electronic health records, internet research, etc. using relevant software.
  • Knowledge of clinical theory and practice, community resources and systems, financial/social resources, and experience in interviewing, assessment and implementation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the various resources and providers within the social services systems including the Office of Homeless Services and the Behavioral Health System. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines and billable unit requirements, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Strong skill sets in oral and written communication, cultural competence, interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving and organization.
  • Must have access to a car to use for work on a daily basis.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a car to use for work on a daily basis. Must have automobile insurance coverage at the state requirement levels and current state registration.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sit at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Remain awake during the entire shift, including break times. 
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions while meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards safely and successfully with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequent talking and listening. Must be able to talk, listen, retain information and speak clearly and accurately; possible exposure to loud and/or vulgar language and hostile gestures.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for flexible work schedules, including one evening/week, one weekend day/month, and/or work holidays/overtime as needed.
  • Some of a Mobile Therapist's time is spent in community settings and/or on outreach. Mobile Therapists must be able to travel within the community, including in inclement weather, which may not be handicap accessible: walk, drive agency vehicles, and/or take public transportation depending on the needs of the program. 
  • Ability to carry computer equipment, and ascend/descend stairs carrying computer equipment.
