General Job Summary

The Investor Reporting and Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the investor reporting, remittance, and accounting functions. This includes ensuring accurate and timely reporting and reconciliation to GSEs (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae), the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), and private investors. The role supports internal and external audits, leads staff, develops departmental processes, and collaborates with other teams to meet regulatory and client obligations.


Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise and provide direction to the Investor Reporting and Accounting team.
  • Manage daily operations of investor remittance, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Oversee reporting and reconciliations for GSEs, FHLB, and private investors.
  • Report loan- and pool-level data to the FHLB and reconcile monthly.
  • Review, approve, and ensure accuracy of monthly reconciliations and audits.
  • Support internal and external audits including investor, client, financial, regulatory, and compliance reviews.
  • Lead the escheatment and remittance processes.
  • Prepare monthly financial summary reports for board meetings.
  • Submit annual GSE renewal forms.
  • Manage controls over custodial and corporate account reconciliations.
  • Develop and improve processes for recurring reconciling items.
  • Create files and data for servicing rights valuations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on new product development, from analysis to rollout.
  • Provide back-up and support for cross-functional department responsibilities as needed.
  • Work with new investors on accounting and audit processes.

Other Job Functions

  • Follow and enforce all University Bank policies and procedures.
  • Represent MLS at conferences and industry events as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by executive leadership.


Requirements

Education, Training and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field required.
  • Master’s degree or CPA certification desired. 
  • 5+ years of experience in mortgage banking and investor reporting required.
  • Experience managing teams in mortgage servicing or accounting required.
  • Prior experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and FHLB required.
  • Experience with Black Knight (MSP) servicing platform preferred.

Working Environment

Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.


Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
  • Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).
