General Notes
The Graduate Assistant will work on an interdisciplinary team that supports the clinical services provided to children and adolescents in the community through the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) program at Dell Medical School. The Graduate Assistant will support the clinical support team, including care coordination staff and operational staff, to ensure that TCHATT is providing quality customer service and clinical service delivery. TCHATT provides telemedicine or telehealth programs to school districts to help identify and assess the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents and provide access to mental health services. This is a state funded position sponsored by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in this state in relation to children, adolescents, and perinatal women. This position has a start date of 8/16/2025 and an end date of 12/31/2025. There may be the opportunity to renew this position based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue.
Purpose
This position will support Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) patients, guardians, and schools to improve a child’s overall functioning by providing care coordination and operational support services and a collaborative team-centered approach with an interdisciplinary team. The Graduate Assistant will provide support with (including but not limited to): scheduling, operations, care coordination, referral, data tracking and management, independent projects, procedural operations, and presentation materials. The Graduate Assistant will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members, ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail, effective oral and written communication skill, and will possess a commitment to maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Assists with collection and entry of quantitative and qualitative data for purposes of program tracking, implementation, and development. Maintains electronic files and electronic database records to ensure accuracy of information. Google form and sheet coding.
Creates flyers, newsletters, slide decks, and other communications materials for internal and external purposes. Assists with delivery of presentations, webinars, and other training resources for clinical and non-clinical audiences.
Works collaboratively with other Graduate Assistants on projects and tasks needed to support care coordination and operational workflows. Tracks project deliverables to ensure quality work and timeliness of completion. Attends appropriate training workshops, meetings, and other webinars as required.
Maintains, vets, and updates the internal database for community mental health resources. Communicates with care coordination staff for external referral approval. Works with community resources to provide education about the TCHATT program.
Required Qualifications
A degree-seeking graduate student enrolled in sufficient credits at the University of Texas, Austin. (9 credit hours in fall/spring semesters, 3 credit hours in summer semester)
Prior office or administrative experience required.
Interested in the field of mental health.
Ability to maintain a regular and consistent schedule.
Demonstration of professional demeanor.
Strong technology skills, including the ability to perform computer tasks and use the electronic health record systems independently. Proficiency in electronic systems including, but not limited to, Google Suite, Trayt, Slack, Athena, Calendly.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English and Spanish). Readiness to adopt new techniques and practices as determined by the clinical support team.
Salary Range
$22.00
Working Conditions

Work Location
This position will work remotely at the start of employment. The supervisor will work to identify the needs of the School and communicate the days and/or times expected to report on-site, up to 20 hours per week. The needs of the Dell Medical School will be reviewed on a regular basis, and ample notice will be provided of any changes. Remote work will require reliable internet access and a suitable workspace free from distractions.
