Job Description
Montgomery College is seeking a skilled and collaborative Manager of Talent Acquisition and Employment to lead and manage the day-to-day recruitment operations across the College. This is a managerial role responsible for overseeing and coordinating hiring efforts, supervising and developing recruitment staff, and providing recruiting services and guidance to internal stakeholders, including academic departments, administrators, faculty, and staff.
The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm. This is an exempt, non-bargaining, grade 33 position. This position is eligible for telework two (2) days a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing a talent acquisition strategy that promotes Montgomery College as an employer of choice, provides a responsive and engaging candidate experience, and identifies quality hires while decreasing hiring timeline.
- Ensuring hiring practices remain current, equitable, and compliant with College policies, labor agreements, and applicable federal/state laws.
- Interpreting and applying collective bargaining agreements and College HR policies; providing expert consultation and solutions to departments.
- Administering and overseeing the pre-employment MC’s background check program.
- Acting as the College's Workday Recruiting subject matter expert—providing technical support, maintaining and enhancing recruiting processes, and serving as a system liaison.
- Investigating and resolving complex issues, collaborating within HR and other internal stakeholders to develop solutions.
- Tracking and reporting on recruitment metrics; developing innovative strategies to showcase successes and address areas needing improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible HR experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of talent acquisition strategies, hiring practices, and employment regulations.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting HR policy, employment law, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Familiarity with background check procedures and HR systems, ideally in a higher education or public sector environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized professional Human Resources certifications.
- Experience implementing or managing an employer branding strategy.
- Proficiency in Workday or similar enterprise HR systems.
Hiring Range: $86,709-$119,224 annually. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $151,741.
