Job Summary: The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the DIGITAL ENGINEERING DEPT D00 of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
Major Duties:
- You will provide technical services involved with the execution of work assignments pertaining to significant tasks within complex project-oriented in-service technical support services in U.S. and allied ships and/or shore facilities
- You will provide technical/consultative services and training during Installation, and check-out.
- You will provide technical/consultative services and training during Integration tests, CSSQT, SQT, SAT, certifications, analysis, or other test/evaluation efforts at shipyards, on board ships, test sites, contractor sites, and/or school commands.
- You will provide evaluation of and solution to fleet problems.
- You will maintain knowledge on design, configuration, and problems of cognizant community.
- You will provide technical information in support of the following functions: configuration management, data design (drawings, specs.), logistics support (APLs, IC, ICP), technical manuals (OD, OP, TMCR).
- You will support the development and maintenance of fiscal year (FY) budgets, phasing plans, and spending plans.
Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating electronics engineering testing methods, techniques, procedures, or policies to identify problems and recommend improvements to ensure the validity of testing data of shipboard combat systems for the modernization of ships.
