Lucid Motors is seeking a strategic leader to shape the future of our business at the intersection of automotive innovation and advanced technology. As Director of Strategy, you will work closely with the executive leadership team to define “where to play” and “how to win” in a rapidly evolving EV and mobility ecosystem. You will lead a high-performing team responsible for driving strategic insights, developing long-range plans, and evaluating growth opportunities in a dynamic, data-driven environment.
You Will:
- Lead the annual and long-range strategic planning process across business units
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, Sales & Service, Marketing and Operations to align business strategies with company vision
- Analyze trends across EVs, software-defined vehicles, mobility platforms, and AI/ML integration
- Provide intelligence around competitors and market dynamics
- Provide executive briefings and scenario planning to inform strategic investment decisions
- Identify and evaluate new long-term growth opportunities
- Lead companywide goal setting process in partnership with Office of the CEO
- Manage a small Strategy team that lead various strategic initiatives
- Present regularly to the CEO and executive leadership team
- Act as a thought partner to senior leaders across the company
You Bring:
- 15+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or strategic roles within high-tech or automotive sectors
- Expertise in the EV, automotive, or mobility tech ecosystem, with a deep understanding of trends, value chains, and innovation levers
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced environments
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; experience developing strategic frameworks and business cases
- Highly structured and objective problem-solver who relies on data to uncover insights and inform decisions
- Effective communicator with executive presence and the ability to distill complex topics into clear, actionable recommendations
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders at all levels, from executive leadership to individual contributors
Great To Have:
- Background in high-growth startup environments or global OEMs
- Familiarity with hardware/software lifecycle management or platform-based business models
- Working knowledge of strategic frameworks such as “Where to Play / How to Win”
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Management, or Engineering
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred
