SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST)

Salary Range: $61111 - $79443 Per Year

Job Summary: THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2161000. If you would like the complete list of duties, please contact the POC of this announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Reviews all operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the SF Squadron.
  • Responsible for proper security, classification, and storage of classified documents.
  • Oversees the coordination, review, and implementation of SF manning authorizations and military personnel assignments.
  • Serves as the SF commander's key staff member responsible for the overall management of the unit-training program by overseeing the planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating all unit training related items.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert and consultant to the unit commander on all matters pertaining to the availability and management of the SF training program to meet the needs of the organization and mission.
  • Develops, administers, and oversees the management of the unit's training programs to supervisors.
  • Directs the certification testing (CERTEST) program.
  • Forecasts and submits Deployment For Training requirements in coordination with SF commander to ANG NGB/A7.
  • Conducts unit self-inspections and assessments.
  • Plans, formulates, analyzes, and coordinates budget submissions.
  • Represents SF at wing training meetings.
  • When needed or directed, performs and enforces the full range of security forces duties within the military installation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: MILITARY GRADES: E3 through E6 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 3P051 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
