ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN (AFLOAT NETWORK)

Salary Range: $75706 - $98422 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a Electronics Technician (Afloat Network) in the FDRMC Det Bahrain of FW DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET BAHRAIN.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the subject matter expert in the area of automated digital processing, tactical, and information systems onboard afloat units.
  • You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports (CASREPS).
  • You will provide technical assistance on less urgent but complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces a float, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
  • You will provide authoritative technical/engineering guidance to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) activities and port engineers in resolution of repair/overhaul or test/grooming problems beyond their level of in-house engineering expertise.
  • You will perform special engineering analyses and studies in support of Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) or In Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material etc.
  • You will perform functional checkout, assessment, adjustment, and test of new or modernized shipboard systems in a systems qualifications test environment.
  • You will be responsible in evaluating through research and testing the compatibility and interoperability of currently installed and planned installations of Combat Systems Information Systems onboard afloat units.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Performing all phases of troubleshooting of Afloat Navy Networks and enterprise services such as testing and maintenance of installed onboard Ships for mission readiness; AND 2. Performing Fleet technical assistance for maintenance and repair activities in accordance with fleet maintenance requirements; AND 3. Providing technical/engineering guidance on various aspects of ship repair and maintenance to junior technicians for training and efficiency. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: This is an EMERGENCY-ESSENTIAL position. In the event of a crisis situation or war, the incumbent must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority. Incumbent must sign DD Form 2365 and must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available. Must be able to obtain and maintain a government passport. This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code NETWORK OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed.
