Scholarship LEAD - (FWS/NFWS)
Position Summary/Purpose:
Grand Canyon University is seeking a Scholarship LEAD to support the mission of GCU (Grand Canyon University) through the K12 & Collegiate Advancement department.
Scholarship LEADs are mentors for applicants and current recipients of the Students Inspiring Students, Canyon Rising, and TheDream.US scholarships. The goal is to guide scholars throughout their collegiate career, ensure their retention and engagement, while also working on a team to provide direct support to the department’s management team.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
Serve as a mentor for current recipients of the Students Inspiring Students, Canyon Rising, and TheDream.US scholarships.
Provide ongoing support and advice to assigned groups of scholars to help them navigate their collegiate careers.
Monitor the academic progress and overall well-being of scholars to identify and address any issues that may affect their retention.
Collaborate with other Scholarship LEADs and staff members to develop and execute initiatives that benefit the scholarship programs and their recipients.
Assist in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, and activities aimed at supporting scholars' academic and personal growth.
Participate in orientation sessions, welcome events, and other activities designed to introduce and integrate new scholars into the community.
Maintain regular communication with scholars to keep them informed about important deadlines, opportunities, and resources via social media sites, Slack, and more.
Stay on top of student communication on all social media outlets to ensure timely and effective engagement.
Act as a liaison between scholars and the department, relaying feedback and concerns to the management team.
Help manage and update scholarship-related databases and documentation.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance mentoring and leadership skills.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or Scholarship Program Manager.

Qualifications:
Must be a recipient of the Students Inspiring Students, Canyon Rising, or TheDream.US scholarships.
2.0 GPA or above in perspective coursework
Possess high energy and a passion for helping others succeed
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
Personable, outgoing, and willing to initiate interaction with scholarship candidates and recipients.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
Available 20 hours per week during hours of operation.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to our campus location in Building 66.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 7:00pm
Required Availability: Ability to work 20 hours per week during hours of operation, including Saturdays in certain circumstances.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2026
