In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

Assist the Music and English Intensive Program (MEIP) Coordinator and faculty with the activity and events calendar.This position will be a minimum of 5 hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week during the Academic Year, but may be extended to a maximum of 30 hours per week during the Summer Program if the Activity Leader is not registered for summer courses.
Assisting the MEIP Coordinator with planning and leading extracurricular events and activities including MEIP Check-In, Orientation and the Info Fair.
Required tasks include:
Assisting the MEIP Coordinator with planning and leading extra-curricular events including MEIP Check-In, Orientation and the Info Fair.
Maintaining a strong and consistent presence during extra-curricular events including MEIP Check-In, Orientation and the Info Fair.
Supporting MEIP students in the following ways:
Assist in the planning of relevant on-campus and local events and activities for MEIP students
staffing events and assisting with social acclimation, corresponding via email communication, and engaging entering students
English language development by providing opportunities to practice their formal and informal language skills in a variety of settings
Assisting the MEIP Coordinator, MEIP faculty and LAS Department with various projects and duties related to the MEIP Program
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Experience working with an international population with emphasis on English language learners
Experience with organizing leading groups of peers/students on activities
Experience with event and activity planning
Collaborative team member able to work with other MEIP staff, faculty and MEIP TAs and Activity Leaders.
Responsible student leader with strong problem solving skills, flexibility and patience
