The Financial Division oversees all accounting and financial reporting for American Financial Group and Great American Insurance Group.
Our financial division is hiring a Payroll Administrator. This position will be in our downtown, Cincinnati office and will offer a hybrid work schedule post our initial training period. Candidates with previous payroll experience are encouraged to apply!
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring data integrity and timely distribution of pay.
Develops, implements and monitors controls to prevent payroll discrepancies.
Ensure proper general ledger mapping.
Responsible for ensuring payroll operations comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, avoiding any legal or financial penalties.
Conducts regular audits to verify data accuracy and system functionality.
Provides clear and timely responses to payroll-related inquiries from employees.
Generates and analyzes payroll reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement and presents findings and recommendations to management.
Identifies and implements process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices.
May provide guidance and assistance to other members of the team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. College level coursework in accounting is preferred.
Generally, a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in payroll or related roles.
Proficiency in Workday Payroll and related modules preferred. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge of standard payroll practices, regulations, and tax laws.
Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail and strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
