Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Burns and Plastics Residency at Wake Forest Baptist Center, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

Burn Unit- 10 North Tower:This 24-bed unit offers comprehensive care for all levels of burn patients, including both pediatrics and adults. It has 16 Med-Surg beds and 8 ICU beds. The unit also treats various surgical patients, including those needing plastic, orthopedic, trauma, and urological surgeries. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 in the Med-Surg area and 1:2 in the ICU, though it may vary based on patient acuity.

Job Summary

The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.

What You'll Need

  • Less than 6 months of RN experience
  • Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
