Job Summary: About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Deja Brew (Area 1). This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy.

Major Duties:

  • Provides work direction to subordinates, demonstrates proper work methods, provides work related guidance, ensures necessary products are available and that employees follow security, safety, and housekeeping standards. Performs the same kind of work as subordinates. Oversees all assigned employees during shift. Works along with employees and sets the pace. Provides on-the-job training. Prepares a variety of hot beverages such as cappuccinos, brewed coffee, lattes, espresso, hot chocolate, etc. by selecting proper ingredients. Serves cold beverages and food items, such as soda, juices, cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to patrons. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving customer complaints and issues. Sets up work area for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner. Sets up/cleans tables for customers and replenishes condiment items as necessary. Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours glassware, dishes and utensils as required. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks as required such as coffee machines, ceilings, under and behind equipment, refrigerators, washes floors and walls, sanitizes garbage cans. May unload stock from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal areas. Completes inventories, identifies items and prepares necessary forms for re-ordering. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability. May be required to open and close the facility. Performs other related duties as assigned. Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31ST Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in a restaurant, coffee shop or resale operations. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, lead others and be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in performing tasks requiring multiple steps and use sound judgement in sequencing tasks. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food and beverages, and for cleaning equipment and work areas.
