The Kitchen and Laundry Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all kitchen and laundry equipment within the resort. The includes but not limited to Ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, extractors, washing machines, dryers, ironing equipment, and other associated machinery. The technician ensures that all equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant health and safety standards.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, in a 5-star resort or environment
• Strong knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and HVAC systems related to kitchen and laundry equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, circuit drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with HACCP standards and hotel safety protocol is an advantage
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays is part of the job
Physical Requirement:
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Duties:
• Inspect, maintain, and repair all kitchen and laundry equipment including but not limited to ovens, steamers, fryers, walk-in chillers/freezers, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, and ironing machines.
• Perform Scheduled Preventive maintenance on kitchen and Laundry equipment to avoid downtime and service disruptions
• Respond to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
• Work closely with the culinary and housekeeping teams to identify recurring issues and ensure proper equipment functionality.
• Ensure all equipment complies with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
• Collaborate with external contractors when specialized services are required
• Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary
• Monitor inventory of spare parts and tools, and report purchasing needs to the Engineering Coordinator/Asst, Chief Engineer.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and actively participate in safety and environmental program.
• Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor.
