You’ll work independently, collaborate with executive leadership, and serve as a key liaison to both internal teams and external stakeholders. We Require
Two years of professional analytical experience
Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, social work, education, political science, or related field
Job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, and post-secondary education may substitute for one year of the required experience
We Also Value
Experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs
Experience working with public sector processes and/or federal, state, or local programs
Human service or social service program development experience
Job Contributions
Analyze and evaluate Workforce Development Board (WDB) programs and contribute to the development of program, process, and operational strategies
Lead analytical and operational projects from inception to implementation, including project scope, project budget, project goals, and timelines
Collaborate intra-divisionally as well as with local governmental and nonprofit leaders to develop WDB projects to support initiatives
Research legislation and policy at the federal and state levels and update WDB's policies, processes, and practices
Oversee strategic plan implementation and all required reporting
Conduct research in the current/projected labor market and economic forecasts
Coordinate details for board meetings, committee meetings, agenda/meeting minutes preparation, and follow-up
Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence
Relay instructions and information to workforce partners and ensure follow-up
Coordinate events and travel arrangements
Assist in the management of the department's web page
Oversee new staff and new board member onboarding
Receive and screen phone calls, visitors, and mail, recognizing and expediting priority matters; refer matters to other staff as appropriate
Serve as department HR Liaison and maintain confidential records
Respond to sensitive requests for information that may involve confidential matters
Prioritize matters needing the Executive Director’s attention
Working Conditions
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license at the time of hire
Must complete background check and fingerprint identification upon hire to successfully secure and maintain DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card
This position has the opportunity for a flexible/hybrid schedule after training is completed
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree
