What you will be doing: This senior-level role is responsible for leading and advancing the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate (CRE) strategy, with a particular focus on complex or high-impact opportunities. As the Bank’s primary subject matter expert (SME) on CRE, this individual will shape the bank’s approach to risk, diversification, market participation, and long-term strategic positioning. This role will not directly manage a team but will be instrumental in influencing enterprise-level decisions and ensuring prudent, forward-looking CRE practices aligned with the bank’s overall risk and growth objectives, including deposit growth.

As part of the bank’s strategic expansion efforts, this role also plays a critical function in supporting the high-growth Scottsdale, Arizona market through strategic relationship-building, and supporting disciplined growth that aligns with the bank’s risk appetite. Through market intelligence, competitive analysis, and strategic relationship development, this role will help position the Bank for sustained growth in Scottsdale and beyond by proactively identifying and evaluating additional high-growth markets aligned with the Bank’s broader strategy. Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders—including credit, lending, risk, and executive leadership—on large, complex, or unconventional CRE opportunities across asset types and markets. While CRE is a key focus, this role’s support of market development is not limited to real estate and extends to broader banking growth initiatives, including deposit acquisition strategies.
  • Strategy, Market Development & Expansion: Partner with the CCO and CBO to ensure disciplined execution of CRE strategy and contribute to the broader banking growth strategy in line with the Bank’s risk appetite and goals. Identify and assess emerging markets, including Scottsdale and other high-potential regions using demographic, financial, competitor, and regulatory analysis. Develop and support market entry and expansion strategies that serve business objectives across all business lines, not limited to CRE. - such as driving new client acquisition and deepening existing relationships to grow core deposits.
  • Leadership, Management & Accountability (LMA): Support the Scottsdale market leader in elevating the Bank’s presence through community engagement, networking, and strategic partnerships. This support includes, but is not limited to CRE activities, reinforcing the Bank’s broader strategic and operational goals, including growing deposits and improving efficiency. Maintains a strong leadership presence, especially amongst the relationship managers, motivating staff and building commitment to the Bank’s priorities and direction.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CBO to align all banking initiatives with the Bank’s overall strategic plan. Foster strong internal relationships to drive cross-functional collaboration and exceptional client experience. Contribute to the growth and success of new and existing markets by identifying and pursuing opportunities across all lines of business, ensuring adherence to our Values, Guiding Principles, and Client Service Standards (defect free, timely, caring), and prioritizing balanced, sustainable growth across both lending and deposit portfolios.
