(HELIX), a growing, California-based employee-owned environmental consulting firm, is seeking a team orientated and motivated Habitat Restoration Senior Project Manager with critical thinking skills and a strong work ethic, to join our Northern California team. This position will focus primarily on project work in the Bay Area of California. This position would be assigned to our Antioch location but would allow for a hybrid (in-office/remote) work schedule. HELIX provides biological, CEQA/NEPA, cultural resource management, habitat restoration, regulatory permitting, environmental compliance monitoring, acoustics and noise control, GIS, and air quality and greenhouse gas services to both the public and private sectors.

The Habitat Restoration Senior Project Manager will be responsible for independent management of small to large-sized projects, including budget tracking to ensure project profitability or identification of budget issues prior to project completion. This position will directly participate in securing new work from existing and new clients by researching business opportunities, developing business contacts, and taking the lead in marketing efforts.
The ideal candidate must possess strong communication, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills because critical aspects of this position include developing solutions for project challenges, forging strong, collaborative relationships, and building consensus among team members, clients, and agencies. A flexible mindset and adaptability to changing circumstances is imperative.
Habitat Restoration Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Research business opportunities, develop business contacts and take the lead in marketing efforts for the construction group, primarily focused in the Bay Area region but may include other project locations.
- Proposal management: review of RFPs/RFQs, attending pre-bid walks, reviewing bidding materials, construction plans, summarizing project requirements, initiation of estimating sheets, coordination and interaction with subcontractors
- Project Management: budget tracking, invoicing, client interaction, conveyance of project information to supervisory and field staff, subcontractor management, development and coordination of contract augments
- Ensure project quality, project site visits, review of daily reports, coordination with field personnel regarding work product and production rates.
- Maintain work records as required: Pesticide notification, reports, scheduling worksheets
- Biologist interaction: coordination before, during and after field activities
- Project photo documentation
- Interact (meetings, presentations, letters, etc.) with clients, regulatory agencies, and the public.
- Attend conferences or other business development events and activities
- Maintain safety standards: notify staff of unsafe activities, follow individual safety guidelines
- Team training: participate in training of new employees throughout the organization
- Complete other tasks as deemed necessary for the successful operation of the company
Pay will be based on qualifications and/or experience, with a robust benefits package. Expected starting pay range of $123,000 to $167,000 annually.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources/ Environmental Science or related field (degree in biochemistry or microbiology not acceptable), Business Management, or Construction Management
- 10 years of experience in an environmental or construction industry completing project management and task implementation for biological resources, natural resources, or other similar projects
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and project teams, including large scale natural resources-based projects
- Proven ability to complete projects within time and budget constraints
- Strong client and agency relationships; demonstrated experience leading client management and agency communications especially for agencies overseeing Bay Area jurisdictions
