About Housing Connector:

Housing Connector is a tech-for-good nonprofit that increases access to housing for individuals most in need. We do this by solving financial and resident challenges for property owners so they can open doors to more people in the community and by streamlining the housing search experience for case managers with our Zillow powered marketplace. Together, we ensure properties and residents have successful outcomes.

Recognized as a top employer by Seattle Magazine and as a World Changing Idea by FastCompany, Housing Connector's approach has generated millions in revenue for property partners while connecting thousands of individuals to homes. We believe no unit should sit vacant while there are people in need of a home. Our vision is to deliver simple and scalable solutions — until everyone has a home.

Position Summary:

The Housing Stability Specialist position will give you the opportunity to play an important role in increasing housing security for residents housed in Housing Connector’s program. This role will respond directly to residents experiencing financial and situational incidents, to ensure that properties and residents receive support to maintain housing stability. The Housing Stability Specialist will provide direct support to residents and Housing Connector’s Stability Support team through ticket management to ensure residents in all our markets succeed while also helping to deliver projects that improve the overall team function and cohesion.

As a Housing Stability Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in solving problems for property partners and helping tenants maintain stable housing. You’ll work directly with tenants and property staff to mediate issues, ensure clear communication, and expedite resolutions. You’ll also collaborate closely with the broader Stability Support team to manage a high volume of support tickets and build sustainable, trust-based relationships across our network.

This is a great opportunity for someone who brings empathy, strong relationship-building skills, and a proactive approach to solving problems. If you have a background in case management—especially in mental health or substance use support—and a commitment to long-term housing success, we’d love to meet you.

Critical Job Functions:

  • Triage and address incoming stability support issues by working directly with residents and Property Partners via phone, email, and text, focusing on resolving property concerns while supporting residents in maintaining stable housing.
  • Identify and maintain up-to-date local resources to support residents in maintaining stable housing and building long-term independence.
  • Support residents in accessing and navigating community resources to reduce tenancy risks, maintain stable housing, and build long-term independence.
  • Use tools like Salesforce and Housing Connector’s internal ticketing system to track communication, outcomes, document risk factors, and identify trends.
  • Collaborate and maintain regular communication with Property Partners, residents and the Stability Support team to resolve issues promptly and support housing stability.
  • Work with residents to develop Stability Plans and prepare Financial Assistance Requests when in-house payments are needed to maintain housing stability.
  • Identify and support strategies to streamline responses to resident concerns, including improving programs, leveraging technology, and strengthening partner relationships.
  • Provide housing stability support through a client-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approach, including occasional onsite visits when needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on cross-functional teams to ensure stability support needs are represented and advanced.
  • Identify and test opportunities to automate ticket responses and expand stability support services at scale.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Maintain strong professional boundaries while showing empathy, especially during emotionally charged or high-risk situations.
  • Capture qualitative insights and contribute to storytelling and reporting on housing retention outcomes.
  • Actively support continuous improvement by identifying communication gaps, recommending process changes, and contributing to team learning.
