Position Summary    

Total Rewards Specialist – Compensation supports the Total Rewards Manager in executing accurate and timely payroll operations. This role works closely with the People Operations and Finance teams to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and maintain precise financial records. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of payroll processes, leave administration, labor laws, and HR systems, particularly Workday HCM. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

The essential functions of this role include but are not limited to: 

 

Payroll: 

  • Process payroll for multiple locations and shifts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 

  • Review and verify payroll inputs, including hours worked, benefit deductions, and pay rate changes. 

  • Partner with People Operations to track and process Team Member lifecycle changes such as new hires, terminations, and compensation updates. 

  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including timekeeping and benefit deductions. 

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and internal policies. 

  • Collaborate with the Plant People Operations Team to equip them with the knowledge needed to address and resolve Team Member questions and issues. 

  • Prepare payroll reports and documentation to support audits and internal reviews. 

  • Manage payroll tax filings and reporting requirements across multiple states. 

  • Administer garnishment orders in coordination with the payroll provider, ensuring timely and accurate processing. 

 

Compensation: 

  • Generate compensation reports and dashboards to support decision-making by HR and leadership. 

  • Assist in benchmarking roles using compensation survey data to support pay structure reviews. 

  • Create compensation and wage reports as needed to support census data requests, audits, and regulatory filings. 

 

Benefits Administration: 

  • Support the annual Open Enrollment process by: 

  • Communicating benefit changes. 

  • Educating Team Members on available benefit options. 

  • Assist with tracking benefit premium arrears for Team Members on or returning from a leave of absence. 

 

HR System Administration: 

  • Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity. 

  • Perform testing for system upgrades and other configuration changes. 

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations. 

  • Support the annual compensation review process by preparing data reports, auditing employee compensation data, and assisting with system setup in Workday. 

  • Assist with Workday setup for annual Open Enrollment, including rate updates, testing, deployment, and creation of informational guides. 

 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or a related field. 

  • Strong project management, analytical, communication, and organizational skills. 

  • Knowledge of legal compliance and regulations related to compensation and benefits 

  • Familiarity with Workday HRIS preferred 

Education/Certification Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
