Curriculum Research & Development

  • Design a 12-week self‑advocacy curriculum mapped to NJ Career Readiness Standards, WIOA Pre‑ETS requirements, and CASEL SEL competencies for grades 9–12 (9 weeks during the school year and 3 weeks during the summer)
  • Develop weekly UbD unit plans and daily lesson plans with measurable outcomes, rubrics, and UDL accommodations
  • Incorporate interactive activities, real-world case studies, and project-based assessments for diverse learner needs
  • Create and implement a pilot survey for feedback on the curriculum

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Special Education and Workforce Development teams to align curriculum with IEP transition goals
  • Facilitate scholar feedback sessions to iterate for accessibility and cultural responsiveness

Documentation & Compliance

  • Deliver editable digital files aligned with FA branding
  • Provide two fully organized printed binders (student and instructor versions)
  • Ensure curriculum meets funder, state, and federal compliance standards
  • Include facilitator notes and training materials for implementation

Metrics & Evaluation

  • Develop tools to track scholar progress and curriculum effectiveness
  • Collaborate with leadership to align outcomes with Pre-ETS, IEP goals, and funder expectations

What do we require from you?

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction, Special Education, Counseling, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing curriculum for students with disabilities or diverse learning needs
  • Strong understanding of SEL frameworks (e.g., CASEL), WIOA legislation, and Pre‑ETS services
  • Demonstrated ability to align content with IEP goals and workforce readiness standards
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable delivering training and supporting implementation

Preferred

  • Experience in charter school or urban education settings
  • Background in workforce development, vocational counseling, or career advising
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and accessibility (WCAG) standards
  • Hired candidates are responsible for the following: official transcripts, criminal clearance (fingerprinting), and medical clearance (TB/Mantoux testing).
