Veterinary Assistant - Animal Care Clinic

Animal Care Clinic is a long-standing general practice with deep ties to the community. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family.

Our ideal candidate will have open availability, excellent time management skills as well as be able to work in a team. Duties will include assisting in rooms with doctors, drawing blood and running labs, filling meds and administering medications, feeding/watering/cleaning patients, etc.

Animal Care Clinic aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their cats and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. We strive to give our customers the best personalized service possible and to create a friendly, professional work environment for our excellent staff!

 

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Clinical Veterinary Experience
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with pets and their owners
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Skills with: Blood draws, Placing IV catheters, Digital radiology including positioning, Dentistry, Anesthesia & Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; and Sedivue are Highly Preferred!

Qualifications 

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. 

  • Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements. 

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. 

  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. 

  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records. 

  • Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
