Position Summary:
This position is accountable directly to the Associate Program Director. This is a full-time/part-time position, based out of The Triumph in SE DC.
Salary – The salary range for this position is $25.00 - 25.96 and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Indeed provides its own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH’s range.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts on-going research to compile available units and distributes among all Housing Program staff for dissemination to clients at least bi-weekly.
- Provides housing related advice, consultation and guidance to all case managers to better assist families, including but not limited to, topics related to tenancy problems, late payments, lease violations, DC Housing Codes, tenant rights, landlord rights, and landlord/tenant court processes.
- Connects with landlords and develops strong relationships in order to facilitate housing options.
- Coordinates with case managers to assist their clients with housing search, supports clients in viewing units in collaboration with case manager, advocates with landlords on behalf of clients, negotiates prices with landlords and facilitates the lease-up process.
- Provides families with unit viewing options in order to achieve at lease six lease ups per month outside of units providing by DHS.
- Provides support to landlords to help them better serve clients via community resources, referrals to educational events, and seminars as needed.
- Provides conflict resolution and mediation services for families and landlords as needed.
- In collaboration with the Employment team, participates, leads, and helps design Life Skills curriculum, groups, and classes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in housing/homelessness field preferred.
- Minimum one year experience working with landlords or connecting individuals to housing required.
- Minimum three years’ experience working with landlords or connecting individuals to housing required if no degree
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of local housing continuum and program requirements preferred.
- Some knowledge of fair housing and tenants’ rights preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate client and program schedules required.
- Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty strongly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and regular access to a car, as well as proof of auto insurance, required for staff working in scattered site housing programs.
- In relation to remote work versus on-site expectations, this position is classified as the following: Hybrid: Remote work and on-site work requirements are generally split roughly 50/50. Please note that remote work designations are subject to change or fluctuate at any point in time and the supervisor may require in person learning for a specific amount of time after hire.

About Us:
Community of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. For 45 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and community support services to make Washington, DC more equitable. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health, with midwifery practice and the only free-standing birth center in DC. In 2024, Community of Hope provided about 50,000 medical visits, 6,300 dental visits, and 17,000 behavioral health visits for about 16,000 patients. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers of homelessness prevention and housing services for 1,600 households—1,384 families and 220 individuals—experiencing homelessness in DC.
