Position Summary
The Senior Director of Retail Sales is accountable for driving profitable growth across designated markets, with full ownership of retail strategy, execution, and team leadership. This role serves as a key representative of the company within the retail instore bakery channel, overseeing all business development activities, broker management, distributor management, customer engagement, and participation in industry trade events. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong industry relationships, and a proven track record of leading high-performance sales organizations.
Essential Functions
- Lead the execution of sales, promotional programs, and new product launches while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Set and manage sales targets and KPIs, analyze performance metrics, and implement strategies to meet or exceed goals.
- Cultivate and strengthen customer partnerships by identifying growth opportunities, participating in key events, and delivering tailored solutions.
- Provide regular reporting on market activity, sales performance, and competitive insights to senior leadership.
- Perform additional strategic and operational tasks as assigned
- Drive aggressive sales growth and consistently deliver revenue targets. Build and nurture long-term, strategic partnerships.
- Own the end-to-end sales process.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of all the breads we offer.
- Actively participate in weekly virtual sales meetings and quarterly in-person meetings.
- Report on market activity, sales performance, and growth opportunities.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive retail sales leadership experience in retail in-store bakery. Preferably artisan bread. Experience in bread aisle or freezer department is a plus.
- Driven sales acumen. Energetic, proactive, takes calculated risks, attain goals.
- Must possess an extensive knowledge of sales, business development and budget analysis capabilities with a demonstrated ability to apply these principles and methods through strategy and tactics.
- Deep understanding of the Izzio brand—its history, vision, and future.
- Experience managing distributor networks, brokers, sales professionals and complex retail accounts.
- Strong collaboration skills, especially in working with fellow sales professionals to optimize shared distributor performance.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is based on the level of experience, other relevant experience, and requirements of the position. The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.
- Base Salary Range: $155,000 - $185,000
