Job Description
This position can be remote; however, if you reside near our offices in Menomonee Falls, WI, or New York City, NY, we request that you work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
About the Role
You will play a critical role in defining and bringing Kohl’s security vision to life. You will protect networks, systems, applications, and data by developing and executing security strategies that align with Kohl’s business and technology objectives. By balancing security with innovation, you’ll build security practices that drive business resilience, support compliance and operational excellence. You’ll lead multiple security teams, influence security & technology decisions, and drive security solutions to protect enterprise assets and data.
What You’ll Do
Develop and oversee policies and programs used in the mitigation and/or reduction of compliance, operational, strategic, and financial security risk strategies relating to the personnel/staff, any assets, and other property
Set the vision and ensures strategic objectives for the area(s) directed, ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals
Oversee the execution of the strategic and operating plans of the organization including establishing budgets, schedules and performance standards to meet operating plan
Provide strategic and technical leadership across the organization on matters of information security
Lead with influence and expertise to bring clarity to ambiguous situations, develop partnerships that allow teams to be successful, and drive technology choices and decisions
Provide thought leadership and work closely with the security team to create a bi-directional communication path to bring new ideas and technologies to the company as well as foster and drive consistent use of technologies and standards
Stay current on evolving security and legislative/ regulatory changes related to security; oversees implementation of new processes and/or procedures based on the changes
Work with business partners to establish shared goals, works with them on appropriating funding, and delivering on the outcomes
Ensure agreed upon product/service roadmaps are in place and followed for security capabilities
Create and foster an environment of innovation; removes roadblocks and enables strategic risk taking; advocates and drives change management and adoption of behaviors and practices
Present, negotiate and influence Leadership and above on company wide impactful decisions as it relates to the information security strategy as well as specific department plans
Drive a culture of Associate development
Funnel organizational communication and direction to the team and creates clear connections to the goals of the department
Advocate for team by moving decisions forward, eliminating barriers and navigating organizational culture
What Skills You Have
Required
10+ years of experience in information security
5+ years leading multiple domains
Extensive experience in developing and leading large-scale security programs and initiatives
Preferred
Advanced degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership
In-depth knowledge of security standards, regulations and compliance frameworks relevant to the retail industry
