Job Description: Accountant – Accounts Payable & Receivable
Reports to: Director of Accounting
Overview:
As the Accountant – Accounts Payable & Receivable, you will support the accounting team by overseeing the full invoice management process and ensuring accurate and timely processing of payables and receivables. This role involves maintaining vendor data, supporting financial close activities, driving process improvements, and collaborating cross-functionally to strengthen internal controls and educate teams on A/P practices.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and allocations.
- Work within a multi-subsidiary, multi-state environment.
- Perform tasks and provide support related to month-end and year-end close.
- Manage payroll, accounts receivable, and payable.
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports.
- Continuous process improvement, create efficiencies and enhance current processes through leverage of technology & automation.
- Analyze financial information to recommend efficiency improvements.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities.
- Support external audit processes & tax compliance.
- Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures related to assigned processes.
- Act as a financial liaison to multiple departments by understanding and servicing their business needs.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field
- 3+ years of accounting related experience with emphasis in managing a high-volume accounts payable environment, preferably.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with NetSuite and/or similar ledger applications.
- Experienced in dealing with multiple subsidiaries that have significant impacts on coding and payment processes.
- Enthusiastic about process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and manage confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to follow through on matters with an attention to detail.
- Strong people skills - able to understand and rectify issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders on a collaborative basis.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
