Alpha Home Health & Hospice is a Medicare-certified agency in Everett, Washington that is seeking an experienced Medical Records Specialist.

Required Qualifications: Please note: Only applicants who meet all required qualifications will be considered for this position.

  • Must be able to travel to our offices in Everett, Washington for a week of onboarding and training. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.

  • 1-2 years of home health and hospice agency medical records experience required

  • Must be able to work Mon - Fri, 8:30 am to 5 pm PST

  • Experience with Home Care Home Base (EMR) is required

  • We CANNOT hire in the following states: Maine, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Hawaii.

Other Considerations:

  • Preference given to those living in Washington State, PST or MST.

  • Demonstrate cooperation and provide excellent customer service

  • Ability to multi-task and stay on task in a fast-paced office

  • Excellent team-oriented, verbal, and written communication skills

  • A dedicated, private, and secure home workspace that meets HIPAA compliance standards for handling Protected Health Information (PHI).

  • Such as: A quiet, enclosed area where sensitive conversations (e.g., phone calls, virtual meetings) cannot be overheard by others.

  • The ability to ensure your computer screen and any physical documents are not visible to unauthorized individuals.

  • Secure and private internet access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all daily clinical records functions including physician communication documents to and from the clinicians and physicians

  • Maintains clinical record system in compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Protects privacy and confidentiality of patient and agency information

  • Understands and adheres to HIPAA regulations and compliance standards

  • Monitors unsigned and overdue physician orders and follows up with requests for signatures

  • Update all information in Homecare Homebase (EMR)

  • Track, upload, and ensure proper work flow is followed for consent forms, lab orders, etc.

  • Verify insurance coverage and diagnosis codes

  • Communicates effectively and professionally regarding workflow requirements
