We are looking for you to join our team as Principal Engineer Electronics based out of Woodland Hills, CA.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Manufacturing Test Equipment (TE) Design Operations Organization.
What you'll get to do:
- Design, development, documentation and verification of test equipment hardware
- Responsible for all aspects of Test Equipment design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test and verification
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design and development of test equipment
- Contribute to problem solving and troubleshooting efforts of hardware integration activities
- Prepare Test Equipment Development Plans, procedures and operating instructions
- Complete tasks according to schedule, budget, cost, and design objectives
The ideal candidate must have good verbal and written communications skills related to technical approaches, design interfaces, and statuses.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years of engineering related experience, OR Master’s in STEM with 3 years of experience, OR a PhD in STEM and 1 year of experience.
- Experience with lab test equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, DMMs, hand tools etc.
- Experience with writing test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with schematic capture and board layout using Altium Designer and/or Mentor
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
- Prior experience in Test Equipment design and development
- Active Secret Clearance
