As a Land Representative, you will play a key role in supporting our stakeholders in making informed, strategic business decisions by:

  • Negotiating and drafting agreements with partners and landowners related to oil and gas exploration and production activities.
  • Researching and analyzing title documentation for exploration, development, workover and plug and abandonment well operations.
  • Providing land expertise to cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Commercial, Operations, etc. to support strategic decision-making on land agreements and ownership matters.
  • Engaging with federal and state agencies on regulatory matters related to oil and gas operations.
  • Managing surface land matters such as access, water, fencing and compliance with government requirements, as well as resolving surface damage claims.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with third party stakeholders.

Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Strong communication skills: Can clearly and effectively convey ideas both verbally and in writing.
  • Commitment to learning and feedback: Proactively engage with land professionals to quickly build a strong understanding of the land organization’s role and impact on oil and gas development. Ideal candidates are curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn—actively seeking out opportunities rather than waiting for direction. Candidates should be open to both giving and receiving constructive feedback, as well as recognizing and sharing positive feedback to foster a supportive and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Negotiation ability: Use appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to establish effective relationships with third parties, including government agencies, landowners, and partner company representatives to negotiate the agreements and documentation necessary for oil and gas development.
  • Planning and organizational ability: Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and guide yourself and others to ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
  • Team-oriented mindset: Collaborate effectively within team settings and contribute to cross-functional initiatives to address business challenges.
  • Contract interpretation, drafting, and problem solving: Review third-party contracts to ensure they align with company standards, and draft agreements that effectively support business objectives while remaining acceptable to external stakeholders.
