Everest Carbon is a fast-growing VC-backed climate tech startup specializing in sensor technology for the commercialization of negative emissions.

We are looking for an ambitious and proactive Data Scientist Intern (w/m/d) to join our fast-paced, high-impact startup environment.

You will work closely with our CTO and CEO, offering a rare learning opportunity to grow and develop both technical and professional skills.

This role is fully remote, and we’re seeking an outstanding candidate with a strong quantitative scientific background who is eager to fast-track her career. The internship duration is an initial 3 months with some flexibility, after which we'll offer a permanent position to a stellar candidate.

Tasks

• Conduct data analysis on real-world commercial data, generating meaningful scientific insights
• Develop visualizations and reports that convey your findings in an accessible way for internal and external stakeholders
• Wholistically enhance our data pipeline through clean and reusable code
• Write test code to ensure data integrity across multiple sources, supporting scalable, high-quality data pipelines
• Work cross-functionally with hardware engineers and scientists, sharing insights that help improve our sensor
  
  
  

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor's in computer science, physics, or other quantitative science
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience writing clean, reusable code for scientific or data analysis
• Hands-on experience in data manipulation and visualization using Pandas, Matplotlib, Numpy, and similar libraries
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning basics, and time-series analysis is highly valued
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and remote team environment
• Bonus: 1-2 years previous work experience in data science or similar
