About the job

We are seeking enthusiastic, innovative and forward thinking individuals to help develop the services, membership and sustainability of our valuable small charity supporting local disabled adults with kindness, care and compassion. What difference will you make?CTI 2000's social groups and activities are a lifeline and truly valued resource by local disabled adults, their families, friends and carers. Many members have attended groups for nearly 20 years, accessing affordable and inclusive activities allowing them to socialise, learn and have fun in a location where other mainstream or disability friendly provisions are very limited. It is very much a family of founding member trustees, volunteers, staff and members who all care about each other and the value of what has been created. The tangible benefits to members from the various activities and outings are very visible, just visit any of the groups to witness that! With an ageing membership and desire to help attract new younger members, your skills and experience could help shape our immediate future and beyond. What are we looking for?Knowledge/experience of governance, particularly in a charity/community background. Knowledge/awareness of disability issues and provision/education. Ability to identify new methods of service delivery, activities and sources of income. Enthusiasm and desire to help our beneficiaries/members. Excellent communication/inter-personal skills. What will you be doing?CTI 2000 is seeking new trustees to help the continuation and development of our activities, groups and membership. Having been established in the year 2000, the charity has delivered valuable services for disabled adults with a small team of dedicated and long-standing staff, trustees and volunteers. We rely on small amounts of funding from regular applications, donations and members' fees to sustain what we do. We would like to increase group numbers, attract more new members and diversify our activities. We would welcome anyone with suitable skills or experience of being involved with disability groups or education providers to offer their ideas and expertise, particularly around reaching new people, partnerships and becoming more financially sustainable in the longer-term. Experience/knowledge of governance, funding and disability provisions would be particularly beneficial, as well as the desire to help a very worthwhile cause and its beneficiaries. We have links with many local groups, networks and funders but wish to develop these further, as well as our activities to meet members' needs and interests. Part of our aim is to develop the independent life skills and learning of disabled members which we would like to improve through our activities and social groups. We have dedicated but ageing trustees who would like to see a smooth transition of our management and services over the coming years and less dependence on long-standing individuals. CTI 2000 is an inclusive, friendly team so please consider helping us, we would be very happy to chat, tell you more about what we do and show you the great work we do!
