What You’ll Do:

• Lead a talented backend team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous technical growth.
• Architect and enhance highly scalable, distributed backend services primarily in Scala and Python, using AWS cloud infrastructure to support Prezi's AI-driven features.
• Collaborate with AI and product teams to integrate machine learning models into backend systems, optimizing performance and scalability for millions of users.
• Own end to end with your team microservices that handle intensive media processing workloads, leveraging functional programming to ensure efficiency and resilience.
• Mentor and guide developers on best practices in distributed systems, functional programming, and cloud architectures.

Who We’re Looking For:

• A backend leader with experience in functional programming (kudos for Scala) or statically typed languages (Java, C#), and deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and distributed systems.
• Proven experience designing and implementing microservices and optimizing backend performance at scale.
• Passion for working with AI-driven projects, integrating machine learning models, and solving complex backend challenges.
