About the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to join a great team of volunteers working to restore the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust for the benefit of the public. We are seeking someone who has skills in securing core funding for our Trust
What difference will you make?
You will be helping the Trust secure funding to pay the continuing, non-project costs for the Trust's day-to-day operations, in support of its restoration of 112Km of the historic Wilts & Berks canal. You will manage the fundraising activity in the Trust to meet agreed objectives for core funding axcquisition. You will select and lead a small core fundraising team of able volunteers. You will keep the Director of Fundraising/CEO and his/her fellow members of the Executive Board fully aware of success and challenges in the delivery of core income.
What are we looking for?
Skills and resources required Demonstrable leadership skills and an understanding of the need for consistent management processes Good understanding and experience of fundraising in the charitable sector Ability to recruit a compact team and motivate capable volunteers Ability to manage a compact team and liaise with many sources of grants and donations Personal computing facilities including reliable internet access
What will you be doing?
You would Work with the Director of Fundraising/CEO to define and create an effective Core Funding team to deliver the continuing income the Trust needs to cover its overheads as it supports its canal restoration programme Work with the Director of Finance and the Director of Fundraising/CEO to define the funding needed to meet the Trust’s core funding objectives Manage the Core Funding team, so as to deliver the income the Trust needs to cover its overheads Work with the Core Funding team to establish a programme of work to deliver an income stream to meet the Trust’s overhead costs Liaise with the Trust’s third-party fundraiser, the Marsha Miles Consultancy, as an integral part of the Core Funding team’s bid writing capacity Monitor progress against plans for Core Funding income and provide monthly written reports to the Director of Fundraising/CEO
