We are looking for a driven and intelligent individual to join our growing Self-Direction Product Management team. Opportunity awaits the right person eager to fuel HHAeXchange’s growth with a combination of focus on big picture strategy and seamless tactical execution of roadmaps and release plans through Agile Product Management & Development best practices.

The Product Manager is responsible for maximizing the product value created by multiple assigned scrum teams by collaborating with Product, R&D, customers, and customer-facing teams. The Product Manager will work with Product and R&D management to create product roadmaps that achieve business objectives within the capacity of assigned scrum teams. The Product Manager will break down high-level requirements into prioritized and well-defined requirements and will work with scrum teams to implement the committed roadmaps on time. The Product Manager will also collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders/customers to ensure project goals are met, which includes not just the technical releases but commercial launch and post-launch support. The Product Manager will take a leadership role in driving cross functional initiatives, helping to provide mentoring and direction to Analysts.

This role will be accountable for success and product-market fit of the HHAeXchange product components within the Self-Direction FMS Engine domain across the portfolio including Self-Directed budgets, pre-payroll and pre-billing validations, payroll and A/P processing, data preparation for payroll, A/P, and billing, and reporting, as well as interactions between the domain and up and downstream systems.

Essential Job Duties

  • As the product owner of one or more agile development scrum teams, coordinate with the team to ensure the backlog remains prioritized, Sprint objectives remain clear and aligned with overall release and organizational commitments, and that the quality of the team’s delivery meets quality expectations.
  • Be self-accountable for your product domain’s effectiveness in achieving broader strategic business objectives by formulating and executing product strategies, roadmaps, and release plans.
  • Develop a deep understanding of your product’s target markets, features and functionality, limitations, opportunities, buyer/user personas, competitive advantages, threats, etc.
  • Conduct regular product roadmap reviews, product demos, and product advisory workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and serve as a subject matter expert on State Medicaid, Self-Direction, and Program and Payer-specific budget, payroll, and pre-billing requirements, key federal and state regulatory mandates, contractual requirements and other mandates that need to be factored into any product that goes to market.
  • Lead market analysis specific to Self-Direction requirements and regulations to prepare HHAeXchange for successful entry into new markets and successful delivery of existing contracts.
  • Collaborate with other product team members to ensure cross-team dependencies are clear and relevant timelines are communicated.
  • Collaborate directly with 3rd party vendors and partners consuming and integrating with HHAeXchange products and services.
  • Assist sales team with RFP reviews and functional gap analyses, training team with product documentation, and marketing team with product collateral.
  • Partner with Implementation, Subject Matter Experts, and Client Success teams to ensure products can be implemented and configured efficiently based on varying market/client needs and help troubleshoot any bottlenecks through product enhancements and/or improved tooling.
  • Shepherd new products/offerings through cross-functional go to market processes.
  • Partner with Support and Client Success teams to facilitate smooth product releases, intake and understand customer feedback, and help troubleshoot product support call drivers.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel 10-25%, including overnight travel


Required Education, Experience, Certifications And Skills

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Product Management, preferably in healthcare or IT technology vendor space with experience in both strategic and tactical capacities.
  • 3+ years of experience in complex software, Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), or payroll/budgeting/billing software.
  • Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry, HCBS, Self-Direction, specifically Medicaid managed care, the 21st Century Cures Act and Electronic Visit Verification requirements (EVV) preferred
  • Expert-level communication skills required for eliciting and understanding customer needs, conveying vision, authoring complex product requirements, and delivering crisp market-facing documents and presentations.
  • Ability to be a vocal leader on the Product Management and R&D teams and be accountable for the offering.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and assert influence across departments and with clients to manage stakeholder expectations and drive the overall success of the product.
  • In-depth understanding of Agile Product Management and Development principles preferred. Classroom Agile/Scrum training or certification a plus.
  • Familiarity with SaaS business model and associated product health metrics along with configuration, custom services, and self-service design concepts.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Suite, Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile software development tools.


The base salary range for this US-based, full-time, and exempt position is $100,000-116,000, not including variable compensation. An employee’s exact starting salary will be based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, location, and the ability to exemplify the HHAeXchange core values.
