Position: Content Editor

Working Hours: M - F 9 am 5 pm CST

Type of contract: Independent contractor

About the Role: As an Editor, you will play a crucial role in refining and enhancing the quality of our SEO articles. Your responsibilities will encompass editing for grammar, tone, and SEO optimization, ensuring that our content meets both client expectations and industry standards. You will collaborate with various team members, including Campaign Managers and writers, to deliver high-quality, engaging content. Your work will directly impact our client's online presence and success.

Duties And Responsibilities

Edit SEO Articles:

  • Ensure adherence to AP Style grammar, punctuation, case, and spelling standards.
  • Maintain brand voice, tone, and word choice consistency.
  • Follow our client's specific formatting, keyword, and linking requirements.

Content Management

  • Oversee the content deliverable timeline for multiple clients from submission to publication.
  • Collaborate closely with Campaign Managers to ensure content deliverables meet client expectations.

Writer Collaboration

  • Provide writers with client and tone information, communicate feedback, and answer questions promptly.

Client Interaction

  • Engage with clients regularly via video calls, instant messaging, email, and more to ensure satisfaction with deliverables and timely deliverable management.

SEO Optimization

  • Optimize content using provided keyword research to ensure strong SEO performance.

Content Revision

  • Revise and rework copy for tone, voice, quality, structure, and content.

Support Tasks

  • Assist with miscellaneous writing, editorial, or administrative tasks as requested by Content Team members.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with team members both within and outside of the Content Department, maintaining clear and effective communication and contributing positively to the team dynamic.

Research

  • Perform research as needed to ensure all content is accurate, credible, and well-informed.

Stay Updated

  • Keep up to date with the latest trends and developments in content creation, SEO, and digital marketing.

Qualifications

  • This role is fast-paced so we need someone efficient, fast working, and a grammar perfectionist. Our editors currently pace at 10-15 minutes per article (1500-2000 words).
  • 7-8 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Proven experience in SEO content management
  • Proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush)
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Tools You’ll Use: Monday.com, Slack, Gmail, Google Workspace, Google Docs
